EveryRamp is an independent company, not a government agency. We test against WCAG 2.1 Level AA — the standard named in the ADA Title II and Section 504 rules — and publish our own accessibility report.

For medical and dental practices

HHS's Section 504 rule sets a website-accessibility deadline for medical practices: May 11, 2027, or May 10, 2028 for practices with fewer than 15 employees.

We run an automated test of your practice website and patient forms — intake forms, consent forms, price sheets — against WCAG 2.1 AA, and write the fixes, including rebuilding PDF forms a screen reader cannot read.

What the scan checks, and what we fix

Our automated tests check your website's pages and the PDFs linked from them against WCAG 2.1 AA — the same standard both federal web-accessibility rules point to. We check the WCAG 2.1 A and AA rules the axe-core testing engine covers (missing image descriptions, unlabeled form fields, low color contrast, heading and landmark structure, names for buttons and links), keyboard-only use, and image descriptions or link wording that exist but say nothing useful. For PDFs, we check whether they have tags, real text, a title and a language. No automated test finds every accessibility problem, and we say so plainly in every report. What automated testing checks, and what it cannot.

When a PDF — a new-patient form, a consent form, a price sheet — fails, we rebuild it as a new, tagged file: real headings, lists, tables, a correct reading order, and written descriptions for any pictures, while checking that the rebuilt text still says exactly what the original said. Your web team gets a fix pack: corrected code where HTML and CSS can fix a problem, and specific instructions where it can't. Every package includes a written test report and 12 months of monthly re-testing, so new pages and forms are checked each month. It's fully automated: nobody reviews your site page by page by hand, and your report says plainly which checks a machine can find reliably. We work by email; there is nothing to install.

Questions

Is this required for my practice?

Most doctor's offices take Medicare Part B, so most are covered by HHS's Section 504 rule — Medicare Part B payments count as federal financial assistance on their own, even with no other federal money. Medicare Part B pays for almost no dental care, so a dental office is covered only if it also takes Medicaid, CHIP, or other HHS funding. Not covered? WCAG 2.1 AA is still the standard EveryRamp tests against, and website-accessibility lawsuits are rising nationally regardless of a practice's federal-payer status. More about the deadline.

What does the free scan check?

Your practice website's public pages and the PDFs linked from them, against WCAG 2.1 AA. You get a private report link, usually within a few minutes, with no cost and no obligation — the link is always shown right on the page, never sent by email.

How are patient forms and PDFs fixed?

A new-patient or consent form that fails is rebuilt as a new, tagged PDF: real headings, lists, tables, a correct reading order, and written descriptions for any pictures, while we check that the rebuilt text still says exactly what the original said.

What does the Practice package include?

$990 for one website: fixes written for up to 15 pages, up to 25 PDF pages rebuilt where screen readers cannot read them, a written test report, and 12 months of monthly re-testing.

Do you log into our website or see patient records?

No. Our automated tests only reach the public, unauthenticated pages and documents you give us — we never ask for a login. EveryRamp is not a HIPAA business associate, so please do not send us, or link us to, real patient data; use a blank template if you want a patient-facing form tested.
